Alan Isaac is involved in a variety of governance roles within a range of New Zealand businesses, from sporting bodies through to commercial and Crown entities. He is a respected board member and advisor who enjoys working with businesses to enhance their performance and profitability. His expertise with asset structures and development of governance models for organisations has given him a pragmatic perspective on governance.

Alan has a record of leading organisations through significant corporate change and crisis from his executive history as an insolvency specialist. During his many years as Chairman of Partners of the accounting firm KPMG, Alan guided the organisation through a highly successful period of growth and structural change.

Alan brings considerable experience, vision and business connections to Murray Capital. His key skills are the ability to identify risk management issues, to negotiate to advance business issues and his extensive financial acumen. Alan is acknowledged as a prominent New Zealand businessman who has achieved favourable outcomes for many significant corporate failures

Experience

Alan has extensive experience in the field of corporate governance, corporate management and commercial accounting. He retired as Chairman of KPMG New Zealand in March 2006 after 35 years with the company (including 10 years as Chairman).

Industry Sector Experience

Alan has extensive experience in corporate advisory across a wide range of industries including agriculture, primary sector, property, finance, manufacturing, retail, distribution, healthcare, automotive, aviation, infrastructure, forestry, transport, sport and education.

Current Directorships

He is Chairman of McGrath Nicol (New Zealand), New Zealand Cricket and the New Zealand Fire Service Audit Committee.  He is a Director of Wakefield Health and Rugby New Zealand 2011.

Qualifications

He attended Victoria University of Wellington where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration.  He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (New Zealand) and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.  He is also a member of INSOL (New Zealand).
